How to Find the Light in the Dark

Channel reseller partners such as Wall Street IT Management (WSITM), a member of Skywire’s PartnerUP! Program, provide business customers with broadband communications solutions and services throughout New York City. More often than one might imagine, WSITM is tasked to find connectivity solutions for customers located in fiber dead spots—buildings constructed with no Internet access. Such was the case for an AI workforce management provider who had just moved into a “dark” building in the Chelsea district. The WSITM team called upon Skywire and its Dedicated Fixed Wireless rooftop radio network.

The Challenge: Implementing High-Speed Internet in a New York Minute

“It’s really quite simple,” explains Gregory Gong, CEO of WSITM, “I go to Skywire when I’m working with existing or brand-new buildings that were never fiber-lit. That’s often. And for this, Skywire has an unbelievable solution.” This particular customer, a new tenant to the building, presented an extra provisioning wrinkle: Being based in San Francisco, it wasn’t familiar with the local New York Internet landscape. To complicate things further, T1 carriers in the area were all quoting over a three-month lead-time to light the building. It was untenable for the customer.

When the tech company approached WSITM for a solution, Gong recalls emphasizing to them, “Listen, guys, you have to use Skywire, because they’re the only solution in the building.” They insisted, however, on remaining with their San Francisco-based integrator to manage carrier selection and implementation long distance. Two weeks later, Gong received another call: “We apologize. You were right, they couldn’t get it done... and we need to be up in a week.”

The Solution: Tapping into the Skywire Network that Already Served the Building

Since WSITM had previously brought in Skywire to light the building via its Dedicated Fixed Wireless rooftop radio network, what could have been an implementation and provisioning bottleneck was completed from start-to-finish, well within the customer’s timeline. “Which was great,” Gong notes, “since they had already lost so much time relying on that west coast team.”

Working with Skywire again, WSITM was able to provision the circuit, configure routing, and perform network testing all within a single day. Gong’s team delivered a secure, resilient, high-speed circuit—a dedicated, diverse-path private line—fully independent of underground fiber. It proved more than suitable for the AI company’s daily business communications needs, which included voice, cloud applications, a Virtual Private Network (VPN), and general office broadband traffic. “Basically, everything the customer needed.”

The Result: Getting the Customer Fully Online in Less Than a Week

Since 2018, WSITM has partnered with Skywire, provisioning enterprise-grade connectivity to businesses, whether as a primary circuit or, through its Dedicated Fixed Wireless rooftop radio network, a fully independent secondary circuit for TRUE diverse-path network resiliency. In short, WSITM is able to deliver for customers what traditional carriers can’t or won’t—and do so in days, not months.

“More importantly,” reflects Gong, “Skywire isn’t just a fast solution, they’re a stable and reliable one. Reliable people, reliable service, and reliable SLA-backed connectivity. When a building is dark, we call Skywire. They help us bring the light.”
